Making Halloween Special
So what is it about Halloween that makes it so special for some people? Well, it really depends on who you are.
Kids and Halloween
For kids, it is all about dressing up in costumes and going out trick or treating. Whatever is hot at the moment will attract the kids … both boys and girls, regardless of their age.
Maybe they want to dress up as some Disney characters that are currently popular. Or maybe there’s a singer whose songs they know word for word and they want to dress up like her. Or maybe a character from a comic book that has recently been made into a movie strikes their fancy.
And while the littlest ones may have no clue about what is going on, they are just so adorable dressed up as anything you choose!
Adults and Halloween
For adults who like to get into the “spirit” and dress up, there are so many options. Choose an outfit for yourself based on your preferences or choose coordinating costumes for couples or even groups!
If you are just dressing in costume for at-work celebrations or to greet your little guests in the evening, your choices will be pretty much whatever you want as there are too many costumes to even mention.
And for a party in the evening, either with just adults or even a family event, teaming up to have creative costumes for couples, families, or larger groups offers fewer choices but can be so much fun and get you so much attention!
Halloween Celebrations
Different people like to celebrate Halloween in different ways … from just dressing up to go to work or take the kids out at night … to having a full-fledged Halloween party where the whole neighborhood or just the closest of friends are invited.
Whatever your choice for partying, there is sure to be food involved. Getting adventurous and creative with basic recipes is easy enough to do. You can set the mood and get in the spirit simply by using a little food coloring to make things more Halloweeny.
Black, orange, purple and green are some of the favorite Halloween colors. Lighten things up with yellow and white to keep from being too dark. And then just rename anything you make to “theme” it and you’re good to go.
Halloween Decorations
Whether you actually go all out and celebrate in your costume of choice, you really will need to do at least some decorating in your house.
Little kids coming to your door for their treats may not seem like they really care about your decorations but many of them will notice.
After all, a person who decorates their house or greets visitors “in costume” obviously is someone who is really enjoying the festivities of the night and that will be something the kids pick up on … consciously or subconsciously … making it more fun and a little less frightening for the first-timers.
Regardless of how you choose to celebrate Halloween, it truly is a one-of-a-kind fun night of celebration … so why not go all out?!
Happy Halloween!
